5020-A Fluid Applied Brake Caliper
 |
The 5020 is a scaled-up brake caliper from the model 5019.
However, it has a much higher clamping force, and therefore fits into the medium
to heavy-duty application range. The shoes are detachable from the shoe
bearings, and shims can be installed between the brake shoe and bearing to adapt to various disc thicknesses.
The fluid applied actuator is of the diaphragm type. A maximum pressure of 100 psi (6.9 bar)
|
|
can be applied to this actuator assembly. The brake force is directly proportional to the fluid pressure
in the actuator. Two pipe connections are provided on the actuator. These pipe ports are common internally, and
therefore in most cases only one input connection is sufficient for the normal application. Because of its all bronze
and stainless steel construction, you can expect many years of trouble-free srvice from this unit.

|
Kobelt has developed a whole new series of brake discs to go with this caliper
because of its high popularity. The discs start out at 12 inches in diameter,
and are available in 3 inch increments up to 30 inches. These discs are all
ventilated, and serve all segments of industry.
Important: Use only hydraulic fluid or air to apply this brake. Standard seals
are NOT compatible with brake fluid.
