Kobelt's 2 Year Warranty
When was the last time you got a 2 year warranty without paying extra?
Most Kobelt equipment comes with a conditional 2-year warranty that is the best in the industry. Strict quality control manufacturing and sturdy corrosion-resistant materials ensure trouble-free service above and beyond this generous warranty period.
Due to the nature of the Marine environment, our electronics carry a full 2 year warranty. All the Bronze and Stainless Steel components carry a 2-year warranty, and typically last 20 years or more.
If you want to return Kobelt equipment because you realize that you don't need it, please refer to our Return Policy page.
Warranty Period Details
The warranty period shall be defined as two (2) years on all propulsion control and steering components, two (2) years for electronics, and one (1) year on all disc brakes and other brake products with the exception of brake lining for which there is no warranty. The warranty period for products from another manufacturer, components or in whole, will not exceed the terms or conditions under which their warranty was originally extended to Kobelt.
Please contact Kobelt to see the standard terms of the warranty policy. e.g. Abuse and mis-use are not covered.
Limitation of Liability and Presumptions
In accordance with our policy of continual product improvement we reserve the right to amend the specification of any product without notification. All published data (e.g. clamping force tables) is based on calculations normally used by engineers and is therefore theoretical in nature.
We are not the surety for any other person. We believe that the distributors are good people. They are selling our products to their customers. In some cases, we may refer a potential customer to a distributor. Every relationship we have with our distributors is at arms length; we don’t control their actions, nor expect them to control our actions. We make recommendations for products and installation based on the knowledge provided to us. We trust that the distributors act properly for the needs of their customer. At no time are we taking any form of responsibility for the distributor or customer actions unless it is expressly declared by us in writing. We acknowledge that we live in a society of free people that have the ability to work with their free will and are responsible and liable for their actions. Any presumption that we would accept responsibility (and therefore liability) for a person’s actions is expressly denied by us. We build an excellent product and perform our due diligence in designing and manufacturing those products. We have declared a responsibility to warrant our products and have declared and documented that on our web-site. Any other assumption for liability beyond our warranty is a wrongful assumption. There might be jurisdictions that hold a company liable for more than the just warranty. This is a sign of the times where litigation is often used as an unjust enrichment for some people and a refusal to be personally responsible for their own due diligence during the purchase or use of a product. Many companies have sent technicians for training. Upon completion of training we would issue a certificate of completion. This means that the person has attended the training. This does not guarantee that they will perform perfectly in the field at some time in the future. We cannot possibly monitor all the activities of private persons. This is not possible and not our mandate. We endeavor to assist technicians to understand the technology that is employed in our products, and we trust that the technicians will use the knowledge to best of their ability in supporting their customer. A distributor's customer and our customers may return products to us for repair or inspection. If a distributor's customer is unsatisfied with the performance of a distributor, we are interested in assisting both parties in reaching a satisfactory outcome. Naturally, we cannot guarantee that a good outcome would arise between those two parties. We might recommend working with a different distributor, and may ask for your feedback on various other companies.
All electronic, pneumatic and mechanical components must be carefully checked during all stages of installation to ensure that the product is installed according to the manufacturer’s installation standards and recommendations. When specifying components it is recommended to choose items with higher rated capacity to extend the life of the product. For Example: If your electronic control system requires an actuator with 100 inch pounds of torque, then you should select an actuator that is greater than the specified value to ensure it is not being utilized at its maximum on a continual basis.
Kobelt Disc Brakes should be selected to provide a minimum 20% - 30% safety margin. Borderline installations are not approved by Kobelt.
The warranty is not extended to individual components purchased that are installed into separate steering or braking systems. Any part which has been tampered with or altered in any way in our judgment, or has been subject to misuse, improper installation or negligence is under the liability of the installing distributor and/or end user.
We are pleased to offer sales and some technical information about our products and installation knowledge. However, our information is based on the details provided by you.
