ABS
The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is one of the world's leading ship
classification societies. The primary purpose of ABS is to determine the
structural and mechanical fitness of ships and other marine structures for their
intended purpose. It does this through a procedure known as classification.
Classification involves the establishing and administering of standards, known
as Rules, for the design, construction, and operational maintenance of marine
vessels and structures.
As a not-for-profit and non-governmental organization, ABS acts as a
self-regulating agency to the international marine industry, with the mission of
promoting the safety of life, property, and natural environment. The company
also has affiliated companies which provide inspection, certification,
verification, quality assurance and consulting services not only to the marine
industry but industries worldwide.

The European Commission created the CE Marking of products as a "stamp of approval". The marking
implies that Kobelt Manufacturing has conformed with legislation and that they have been and are willing to be
audited for conformance.
For more details, the Marine Equipment Directive (96/98/EC) has specific information that Kobelt Mfg
has complied with.

Kobelt's ISO Certification
Kobelt Manufacturing believes that the disciplines of Quality,
Health and Safety, and Environmental management are an integral part of our mission in providing
the best controls, steering and disc brakes.
Our quality policy calls for continuous improvement in Quality Management activities.
ISO Certification is an example of backing our ideals with action.
Although we strongly believe in quality, we also believe in cost saving because everybody
wants to get the best value too. We manage quality through efficient methods.
Fortunately, high quality will save money in production and for the customer.
With high quality, the total cost of owning a product is reduced.
You don't need to re-purchase the item again and again.
Cheap products (poorly made, mediocre design, or poor materials) will cost more eventually, and
they lack the overall enjoyment from using a high quality product. The smart money seeks quality investments.

LRS Type Approval Certificates
Type Approval Certificates are issued to producers of products
which meet the 1996 Type Approval System - Procedure, and a relevant Test
Specification approved by LR. The System includes a design review of products,
verification of claimed performance through an agreed test schedule, the issue
of a Type Approval Certificate, the use of the LR Type Approval Mark and the
inclusion of the manufacturer's name and product details in the relevant part of
the List of LR Type Approved Products.
ABOUT LR
The LR Group consists of Lloyd's Register as well as a number of
Group companies.
Lloyd's Register (LR) is the world's premier ship classification
society, founded in 1760. The concept of 'ship classification' originated in the
eighteenth century, when the practice began of awarding different classes to
ships according to their condition.
LR not only serves the shipping industry but provides offshore
and industrial advisory and inspection services. LR's impartiality and integrity
stem from its complete financial, commercial and political independence.
LR operates from more than 280 exclusively staffed offices
worldwide, with 4,500 technical and administrative staff undertaking work for LR
and on behalf of 135 national administrations. A further 1,500 staff are
employed in LR's main subsidiary companies.

Registro Italiano Navale
A certifying authority for more than one hundred years, RINA knows how to keep up-to-date with trends in global shipping.
Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) is one of the oldest societies in the world for the classification of merchant ships.
RINA was established in 1861 for this very purpose and even today, this continues to be its "raison
d'etre".
RINA and Ships
Over the years, RINA has undergone several re-organisations and changes have been made to its duties, yet it has never lost its role as attentive technical partner and highly respected within the international maritime community.
RINA Certifies More Than Ships
The experience gained from over one hundred years of activity in the shipping field has led to a natural and progressive widening and diversification to encompass other industrial sectors thus putting to good use its know-how of great technical merit and the professional skill of its staff.
RINA as a Certifying Body
In this context, RINA also acts as independent third party or certifying body to confirm compliance of the plants with national and international rules as well as with contractual specifications.
This qualification is well suited to those who, like RINA, offer sound guarantees of seriousness, reliability and independence and affirm as fundamental principles of their role, inherited from the shipping sector, the protection of the safety of people and things and of the environment.
