The 7165 was designed to control positioning devices for either on/off or infinite positioning. The 7165 is available with either spring return or detent and/or friction.
The 7165 is available with either 2 microswitches or a potentiometer, is available in either 1K or 5K, and is well suited for locations with constrained space.
