The 7172 is a robust electronic helm, built from bronze and stainless steel, but with electronics incorporated to produce a proportional signal to be transmitted to the hydraulic steering system for positioning of the rudder.
The 7172 can be equipped with up to 2 potentiometers for moving the rudder, or for indicating the number of rudder turns. The 7172 requires an electronic amplifier and feedback units to complete the system.
